No shocking result in a game when second ranked Omegna (20-7) beat at home 16th ranked Siena Virtus (3-23) 80-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Siena Virtus 45-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Omegna looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (203-93) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guido Scali (196-98, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Forward Federico Casoni (201-97) answered with 8 points and 11 rebounds and guard Gerlando Imbro (188-92) added 13 points in the effort for Siena Virtus. Siena Virtus' coach Maurizio Tozzi tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Omegna keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Orzinuovi. Newly promoted Siena Virtus keep the sixteenth place with 23 games lost. Omegna will face Montecatiniterme (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Siena Virtus will play against USE Basket and hope to win that game.
