Regular Season Round 25: Anwil - MKS DG 77-79

The most exciting game of round 25 in the EBL took place in Wloclawek. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Anwil (19-6) to eighth ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (13-13) 79-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Anwil. 24 personal fouls committed by Anwil helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: DePaul) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. South Sudanese-Australian forward Deng Deng (203-92, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Jaroslaw Zyskowski (203-92) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Anwil. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Anwil's coach Igor Milicic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza maintains eighth place with 13-13 record. Defending champion Anwil keeps the fourth position with six games lost. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza are looking forward to face HydroTruck Radom (#11) at home in the next round. Anwil will play against Stelmet Enea BC (#3) in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
