Very predictable result in Zamora where third ranked AE Sedis (18-7) beat 12th ranked Zamarat (7-17) 96-85 on Saturday. Guard Andrea Vilaro (182-93, college: Florida) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and American forward Mehryn Kraker (183-94, college: Green Bay) chipped in 16 points. AE Sedis' coach Bernat Canut used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Laura Quevedo (185-96, college: Miami, FL) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AE Sedis. They maintain third place with 18-7 record having six points less than leader Avenida. Loser Zamarat keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. AE Sedis will meet at home Araski (#7) in the next round. Zamarat will play against Socinsa Bembibre (#9) and hope to secure a win.
