There was an upset when 3rd placed Buccaneers (3-1) lost to twelfth ranked Hawks (2-2) in Floreat 97-104 on Sunday. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Ryan Smith (192-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Lochlan Cummings (189-95, college: Hope International) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Willie Conner (200-93, college: Buffalo) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Colter Lasher (201-94, college: Houston Baptist) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Buccaneers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Buccaneers dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Hawks will face Magic (#11) in Mandurah in the next round. Buccaneers will play at home against Cougars (#12) and hope to win that game.
