An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. Second ranked Toyotsu FE faced one of their biggest challengers Nishinomiya S.. Host Toyotsu FE (37-17) defeated guests from Hyogo (28-26) 73-60. Toyotsu FE outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 42-26 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) supported him with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Toyotsu FE's coach Ryuji Watanabe allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 15 points and 5 assists by swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) did not help to save the game for Nishinomiya S.. Point guard Sotaro Uehara (170-94) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Toyotsu FE have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 37-17 record behind leader Shinshu BW.
