Regular Season Round 17: Fubon Braves - Dacin Tigers 93-66

SBL top team - Fubon Braves (23-12) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Dacin Tigers (16-18) 93-66. Fubon Braves dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Dacin Tigers' 34. They outrebounded Dacin Tigers 56-33 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fubon Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. American guard OJ Mayo (193-87, college: USC) produced 27 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import center Anthony McClain (211-88, college: Cincinnati) added 16 points and 13 rebounds respectivelyfor Fubon Braves. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Fubon Braves. They maintain first place with 23-12 record. Loser Dacin Tigers keep the fifth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Yulon Luxgen. Fubon Braves will meet bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Dacin Tigers will play against Yulon Luxgen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
