There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Calvia (7-17) beat at home higher ranked Salou (12-11) 74-63 on Sunday. Calvia made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Calvia outrebounded Salou 34-22 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Jose-Maria Morales (204-89) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded 17 points and guard Marc Morales (183-92) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Calvia maintains twelfth place in Group C-A with 7-17 record. Salou at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Calvia will face higher ranked Martorell (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
