Rather predictable result when second ranked Norths Soul Sports Bears (4-1) won against 4th placed Bankstown Bruins (2-2) in Crows Nest 87-81 on Sunday. Norths Soul Sports Bears had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Anatoly Bose orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Nick Blair (185-87) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Norths Soul Sports Bears' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jack Lopez (196-94, college: Montana) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and Mark Franco added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for Bankstown Bruins. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Norths Soul Sports Bears maintains second place in League with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Joondalup W. Loser Bankstown Bruins dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Norths Soul Sports Bears will face Canberra Gunners (#6) on the road in the next round. Bankstown Bruins will play against Maitland Mustangs and hope to win that game.
