There was no surprise when 6th ranked Trepca (10-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Rahoveci (16-9) 82-66 on Sunday. Rahoveci made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Trepca turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rahoveci made 7 blocks. American swingman Fred Richardson-III (201, college: Colorado St.) stepped up and scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard DeShon Minnis (190-92, college: Wright St.) chipped in 23 points and 11 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Samir Zekiqi (202-95) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and international power forward Besnik Azemi (200-89) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Trepca's coach Ilir Selmani rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rahoveci maintains third place with 16-9 record having seven points less than leader Prishtina. Trepca at the other side keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Rahoveci will meet Prizreni (#4) on the road in the next round. Trepca will play against Borea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
