Eighth-ranked Giulianova (12-13) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Chieti (19-6). The visitors from Chieti managed to secure only one-point victory 53-52. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was point guard Davide Meluzzi (180-98, agency: Interperformances) who scored 15 points. Power forward Riziero Ponziani (205-94) chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds. Chieti's coach Piero Coen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) who recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Enrico Gobbato (193-98) added 13 points respectively.
