Regular Season Round 160: Detroit P. - Indiana P. 102-111

Date: April 1, 2019
An interesting game for Pacers (46-32) which played road game in Detroit against one of their biggest challengers Pistons (39-38). Second ranked Pacers managed to get a 9-point victory 111-102. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pistons. Pacers made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pacers made 8 blocks. The winners were led by Lithuanian-American power forward Domantas Sabonis (209-96, college: Gonzaga) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Thaddeus Young (203-88, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Pistons. Guard Wayne Ellington (193-87, college: UNC) added 26 points for lost side. Five Pacers and four Pistons players scored in double figures. Pistons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pacers maintains second position with 46-32 record having three points less than leader Toronto R., which they share with Boston C. Loser Pistons keep the third place with 38 games lost.
