Very expected game in Kaarina where 11th ranked Ura Basket (9-29) was crushed by seventh ranked Kouvot (18-19) 92-66 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Kouvot. Ura Basket was better in second period 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kouvot dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Ura Basket's 30. Kouvot forced 20 Ura Basket turnovers. Ura Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Tuomas Hirvonen (181-96, agency: HMS) who added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Kouvot players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Stephen Croone (183-94, college: Furman) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kouvot moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Seagulls. Newly promoted Ura Basket stay dead last with 29 lost games. Kouvot will face Lapuan Korikobrat (#9) on the road in the next round.
