No shocking result in a game when first ranked HLA Alicante (24-5) defeated at home 5th ranked Zornotza (15-14) 71-57 on Friday. HLA Alicante dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Zornotza's 22. Zornotza was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Mali center Boubacar Sidibe (205-94) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four HLA Alicante players scored in double figures. Canadian-Haitian forward Kevin Bercy (201-94, college: St.Francis X.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American-Liberian point guard Saah Nimley (173-93, college: Charleston So., agency: Blacktop Management) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. HLA Alicante maintains first place in Silver with 24-5 record. Newly promoted Zornotza dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. HLA Alicante will face Estela (#7) in Santander in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zornotza will play at home against the league's second-placed Villarrobledo and hope to win that game.
