An interesting game for Patriots (9-2) which hosted in 4th placed APR (5-5). Second ranked Patriots managed to get a 10-point victory 73-63. Patriots forced 20 APR turnovers and outrebounded them 55-34 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Patriots made 12 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by APR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Micheal Makiadi (-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Ally Ruzigande (-91) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Patriots players scored in double figures. International Pascal Niyonkuru (193-95) answered with 18 points and Parfait Ishimwe (-95) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for APR. APR's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader REG. APR at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with IPRC-Kigali and IPRC-South. Patriots are looking forward to face IPRC-South (#4) in the next round. APR will play against UGB and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
