D1 top team - REG (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked UGB (3-8) 100-81. REG forced 20 UGB turnovers and outrebounded them 51-31 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international Olivier Shyaka (197-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Beleck Bell (-90) helped adding 24 points and 7 rebounds. Five REG players scored in double figures. REG's coach Patrick Ngwijuruvugo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Jacques Boissy (-0) responded with 32 points and 4 assists and Espoir Aganze (-94) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. REG have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. UGB lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. REG will play against Espoir (#3) in Kigali in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UGB will play against APR (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
