There was no surprise when 8th ranked UNINASSAU (1-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Funvic/Ituano (3-2) 74-64 on Friday. Funvic/Ituano made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Funvic/Ituano outrebounded UNINASSAU 40-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Swingman Gabriela Alves (180-96) fired 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (174-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.
