Regular Season Round 27: Zwolle - Groningen 101-96

An interesting game for Zwolle (25-4) which hosted in Zwolle 4th placed Groningen (18-10). Second ranked Zwolle managed to get a 5-point victory 101-96. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-22. But Groningen won second period 28-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zwolle shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was a great evening for Canadian point guard Kaza Kajami-Keane (185-94, college: Carleton, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Sherron Dorsey-Walker (193-93, college: Oakland) helped adding 33 points (!!!). The best for the losing side was American swingman Grant Sitton (206-93, college: Victoria) with 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and international Rienk Mast (203-1) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Groningen players scored in double figures. Zwolle maintains second place with 25-4 record behind leader Leiden. Groningen lost their third game in a row. Defending champion keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Zwolle will play against Amsterdam (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Groningen will play against Dutch Windmills and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
