Regular Season Round 28: Gallofa - Solares 83-79

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Solares (5-19) lost to fourth ranked Gallofa (17-7) in Santander 79-83 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Gallofa made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Solares only scored five points from the stripe. Solares was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard David Garcia (192-80) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Daniel Westbrook (208-95, college: Barton, NC) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American swingman James Pegues (198-93, college: Newman) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Carlos Sepulveda (178-96) added 21 points in the effort for Solares. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gallofa maintains fourth position in Group A-A with 17-7 record. Solares lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. Gallofa will face Mondragon (#5) at home in the next round. Solares will play against the league's second-placed Univ.Burgos (#2) and hope to win that game.
