Regular Season Round 28: San Vendemiano - Desio 89-68

Date: April 6, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Desio (4-24) was rolled over on the road by eighth ranked San Vendemiano (15-13) 89-68 on Saturday. San Vendemiano outrebounded Desio 45-23 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Croatian Dorde Malbasa (196-95, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Giacomo Bloise (180-90) who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Four San Vendemiano players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Davide Peri (192-0) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Andrea Tommei (180-91) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Vendemiano moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Bernareggio. Desio lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 24 games lost. San Vendemiano will face Crema (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Desio will play against Lugo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
