Regular Season Round 25: Charilaos TM - Amyntas Dafnis 74-72

The most exciting game of round 25 in the A2 took place in Mesolongi. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Amyntas Dafnis (13-12) to fifth ranked Charilaos TM (14-11) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Charilaos TM dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Amyntas Dafnis' 26. 28 personal fouls committed by Amyntas Dafnis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Efstathios Papadionysiou (189-92) contributed with 22 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. Power forward Panagiotis Koukounias (201-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and forward Christos Gavanopoulos (197-85) added 14 points in the effort for Amyntas Dafnis. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Charilaos TM have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kastoria and Diagoras D. Amyntas Dafnis at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ippokratis and Karditsas. Charilaos TM is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Ethnikos (#16) in Pireus in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Amyntas Dafnis will play at home against the league's leader Ionikos Nikaias (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
