Regular Season Round 54: Niigata Albirex - SeaHorses 95-84

There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Aishin Sea Horses (28-26) were defeated on the road by first ranked Niigata Albirex (39-15) 95-84 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 32 points respectively. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Niigata Albirex have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 39-15 record. Loser Aishin Sea Horses dropped to the fourth place with 26 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Aishin Sea Horses (#4) in Kariya in the next round.
