The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Orange Vikings' (19-36) home loss to third ranked Dragonflies (32-23) in Matsuyama 75-89 on Saturday. Dragonflies looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. Quite impressive performance for power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Dragonflies players scored in double figures. Dragonflies' coach Shota Shakuno used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valpo) added 23 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Orange Vikings. Newly promoted Dragonflies maintains third place with 32-23 record having seven points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Orange Vikings keep the fourth position with 36 games lost. Dragonflies will have a break next round. Orange Vikings will play again at home against Dragonflies (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
