No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Kastoria (14-11) beat at home 10th ranked Psychiko (12-13) 74-67 on Saturday. Kastoria made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Psychiko was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for center Petros Melissaratos (205-93) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Kastoria's coach Nikos Karagiannis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estonian Martin Paasoja (191-93) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Psychiko. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kastoria. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Diagoras D. and Charilaos TM. Loser Psychiko keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Kastoria will face Karditsas (#7) on the road in the next round. Psychiko will play against Evropi and hope to win that game.
