The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked San Lorenzo (21-2) in Buenos Aires on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Ferro (18-11) 106-69. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of San Lorenzo. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Ferro dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to San Lorenzo's 40. They outrebounded San Lorenzo 43-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ferro looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by San Lorenzo's players. It was a great evening for forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferro have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Regatas C. Defending champion San Lorenzo still keeps top position with two games lost. Ferro is looking forward to face Hispano Am. (#15) in Rio Gallegos in the next round which should be another easy win for them. San Lorenzo will play on the road against Gimnasia (#5) in Comodoro Rivadavia and is hoping to win this game.
