Regular Season Round 55: Ryukyu GK - Kyoto Hannar. 67-52

An interesting game for Ryukyu GK (36-19) which hosted in Okinawa their biggest opponent Kyoto Hannar. (29-26). First ranked Ryukyu GK had an easy win 67-52. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 47-29 including a 18-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 assists. International guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK maintains first place with 36-19 record. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side dropped to the third position with 26 games lost. Ryukyu GK will play against league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play on the road against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
