Rather expected game when 13th ranked Union Tours (8-5) was edged at home by eleventh ranked Charleville-Mezieres (10-3) 73-70 on Friday. Charleville-Mezieres looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Xane dAlmeida (181-83) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Eric Bosc (200-93) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Charleville-Mezieres players scored in double figures. American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds and Jamaican Tyran De-Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Charleville-Mezieres have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Angers and Le Havre. Newly promoted Union Tours dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face Etoile Angers (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Union Tours will play against Besancon (#20) and hope to win that game.
