Regular Season Round 24: Ifestos - Cretan Kings 77-80

A very interesting game took place in Keratsiniou. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Ifestos (12-12) to thirteenth ranked Cretan Kings (6-18) 80-77 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-20. But Ifestos won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Anthony Hickey (180-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Travis Bader (196-91, college: Oakland) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and Toddrick Gotcher (190-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Alti Sport) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Ifestos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cretan Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kymis. Ifestos at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Cretan Kings' next round opponent will be higher ranked Peristeri GS (#4) in Athens and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
