Regular Season Round 57: Kyoto Hannar. - Fukuoka Rizing 74-80

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Kyoto Hannar. (29-28) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (12-45) 80-74 on Saturday. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Tatsuya Ito (173-94) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively. Five Fukuoka Rizing and four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains sixth place with 12-45 record. Kyoto Hannar. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the third position with 28 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing and hope to win that game.
