There was a minor upset in Nagoya where second-best Diamond Dolphins (30-27) were crushed by fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-39) 92-60 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Diamond Dolphins 42-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shiga L-Stars. They maintain fifth place with 18-39 record. Loser Diamond Dolphins keep the second position with 27 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Diamond Dolphins will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars and hope to win that game.
