Rather expected game when 6th ranked San Giovanni (16-10) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Palermo (20-6) 74-66. Palermo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to San Giovanni's 24. They outrebounded San Giovanni 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Palermo players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for point guard Rosa Cupido (168-92) who led her team to a victory with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Francesca Russo (176-96) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Palermo players scored in double figures. Argentinian point guard Debora Gonzalez (170-90, agency: Players Group) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) added 19 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for San Giovanni.
