Regular Season Round 24: Aris - Kymis 95-60

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Aris (8-16) crushed 12th ranked Kymis (6-18) in Thessaloniki 95-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Kymis was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kymis to just 2 points in first quarter. Aris forced 22 Kymis turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for international point guard Lefteris Bochoridis (193-94) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Lucky Jones (198-93, college: RMU) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Lithuanian point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (197-93) replied with 16 points and 6 assists and center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-87, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points in the effort for Kymis. Aris maintains ninth position with 8-16 record, which they share with Panionios. Loser Kymis keeps the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Aris will face higher ranked Ifestos (#7) in Keratsiniou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kymis will play at home against Lavrio (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
