Everything could happen in Cheltenham at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Knox Raiders and bottom-ranked Sabres had identical 0-3 record. But Sabres were not able to use a home court advantage and were rolled over by the opponent from Wantirna South 100-78 on Saturday night. Knox Raiders shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sabres' players. American guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) fired 26 points for the winners. S Grant chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. The former international forward David Barlow (205-83, college: MSU Denver) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Sam McDaniel (198-95, college: ULM) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Knox Raiders went down to sixteenth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Sabres still closes the standings with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
