Regular Season Round 24: Olympiacos - PAOK 80-59

An interesting game for Olympiacos (20-3) which hosted in Pireus 4th ranked PAOK (15-9). Second ranked Olympiacos had an easy win 80-59. It looked good early as PAOK took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Olympiacos had a 16-12 second period charge getting the lead and PAOK was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-80. Olympiacos made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while PAOK only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded PAOK 42-23 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olympiacos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by PAOK's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Cypriot-Bulgarian Aleksandar Vezenkov (206-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (212-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos (206-92) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and international power forward Evangelos Margaritis (203-82) scored 10 points. Olympiacos maintains second position with 20-3 record having just two points less than leader Panathinaikos. PAOK at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Promitheas. Olympiacos will play against AEK (#3) in Athens in the next round, which may be the game of the day. PAOK will play at home against Kolossos HH and hopes to get back on the winning track.
