Regular Season Round 29: Roseto Sharks - Bondi Ferrara 82-77

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Roseto Sharks (15-14) beat at home 11th ranked Bondi Ferrara (11-18) 82-77 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Roseto Sharks made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Roseto Sharks outrebounded Bondi Ferrara 35-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Bondi Ferrara was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Simone Pierich (199-81) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized DR Congolese forward Nicola Akele (203-95, college: URI) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Roseto Sharks players scored in double figures. American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: FSU) produced 38 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Lorenzo Molinaro (204-92) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Roseto Sharks moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Bondi Ferrara keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Roseto Sharks will face league's leader Consultinvest BO in Bologna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bondi Ferrara will play at home against Orasi RAV (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
