There was a minor upset when their close opponent Vic (11-19) was outscored on the road by eleventh ranked Baskonia (11-19) 95-67 on Sunday. Baskonia forced 19 Vic turnovers and outrebounded them 53-28 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for swingman Miguel Gonzalez (201-99) who led his team to a victory with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian point guard Lautaro Lopez (188-99) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Baskonia players scored in double figures. Power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) added 15 points in the effort for Vic. Vic's coach Didac Herrero gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Baskonia maintains eleventh position in Silver with 11-19 record which they share with defeated Vic. Baskonia will face La Roda (#12) on the road in the next round.
