Regular Season Round 27: H.Jerusalem - Nes-Ziona 100-73
Date: April 15, 2019
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (12-15) was smashed on the road by third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (19-7) 100-73 on Monday. The game without a history. Hapoel Jerusalem led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Hapoel Jerusalem outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 39-25 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who led the winners and scored 24 points. American center Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Nigerian power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (198-87) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Holon. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with H.Tel-Aviv and Rishon. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet at home Hapoel Eilat (#4) in the next round. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
