Regular Season Round 27: Galil Gilboa - Nahariya 96-93

A very close game took place in Rosh Pina between Galil Gilboa and Ironi Nahariya. Ninth ranked Galil Gilboa (10-17) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Ironi Nahariya (7-19). Galil Gilboa managed to escape with a 3-point win 96-93 in the fight for the tenth place. Galil Gilboa made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Greg Whittington (203-93, college: Georgetown) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Bryant Crawford (190-97, college: Wake Forest) accounted for 20 points, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Five Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. Point guard Anthony Barber (188-94, college: NC State) came up with 36 points (!!!) (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) added 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Ironi Nahariya in the defeat. Despite that victory Galil Gilboa went down to tenth position due to points difference. Ironi Nahariya lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 19 games lost. Galil Gilboa will meet league's leader Maccabi T-A in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nahariya will play against Bnei Hasharon (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
