The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Verdes (10-2) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Tigersharks (8-4) 84-63. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Verdes. They outrebounded Verdes 56-34 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Martevuius Adams who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Jihad Wright (193-93, college: UNC Pembroke) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Tigersharks players scored in double figures. Kyron Molina replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Andrew Ortiz added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Verdes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigersharks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-4 record having just two points less than leader Verdes. Verdes at the other side still keep top place with two games lost.
