Regular Season Round 25: Ifestos - Aris 73-64

Rather expected game in Keratsiniou where 9th ranked Aris (8-17) was defeated by seventh ranked Ifestos (13-12) 73-64 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-12. But Aris won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ifestos shot 27 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Aris only scored seven points from the stripe. Aris was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Latvian Rolands Freimanis (208-88, agency: Alti Sport) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Lucky Jones (198-93, college: RMU) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and French point guard Boris Dallo (196-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Aris players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ifestos maintains seventh place with 13-12 record. Loser Aris keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Ifestos will face Lavrio (#11) on the road in the next round. Aris will play against Cretan Kings and hope to win that game.
