There was no surprise in Las Palmas where 14th ranked Gran Canaria (10-19) was defeated by sixth ranked La ICL Manresa (16-12) 84-76 on Saturday. Congolese center Jordan Sakho (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Danish guard Gabriel Lundberg (193-94) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Five La ICL Manresa players scored in double figures. American forward Jacob Wiley (203-94, college: EWU) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Senegalese point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, college: Wichita St., agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La ICL Manresa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Gran Canaria dropped to the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. La ICL Manresa will face UCAM Murcia (#17) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gran Canaria will play against Movil Estudiantes in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
