Regular Season Round 27: Evropi - Karditsas 69-76

There was no surprise in Pefkohori where 14th ranked Evropi (9-18) was defeated by sixth ranked Karditsas (15-12) 76-69. It was an exceptional evening for guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Four Karditsas players scored in double figures. Karditsas' coach Giannis Tzimas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Konstantinos Kampouridis (204-99) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Evropi in the defeat. Karditsas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kastoria and Diagoras D. Newly promoted Evropi keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Karditsas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Charilaos TM (#4) in Mesolongi and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Evropi will play on the road against Marousi (#13) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
