Very expected game when 14th ranked Pozzuoli (7-23) was defeated at home by third ranked Salerno (24-6) 71-53 on Saturday. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Roberto Maggio (183-90) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ernesto Carrichiello (196-84) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Fabrizio De-Ninno (192-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 13 points.
