Regular Season Round 28: San Giovanni - Campobasso 72-53

Round in Serie A2 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Valdarno where host San Giovanni (17-10) crushed league's leader Campobasso (22-5) 72-53 on Saturday evening. It was a great shooting night for San Giovanni especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Center Lucia Di-Costanzo (184-92) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five San Giovanni players scored in double figures. Power forward Emilia Bove (185-88) produced 14 points and guard Elisa Mancinelli (175-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. San Giovanni maintains seventh position in A2 with 17-10 record. Campobasso at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Costa Masnaga. Campobasso will play next round against Umbertide trying to make it back to the top of the standings. San Giovanni will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Pistoia on the road.
