Regular Season Round 31: L'Hospitalet - Tormes 80-49

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Tormes (7-24) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked L'Hospitalet (14-17) 80-49 on Sunday. L'Hospitalet dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tormes' 26. L'Hospitalet forced 19 Tormes turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Georgian center Shota Gelazonia (205-94) helped adding 14 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five L'Hospitalet players scored in double figures. L'Hospitalet's coach Jose Manuel Hoya felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Bosnian forward Njegos Sikiras (205-99) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian forward Anrijs Miska (203-0) scored 10 points. L'Hospitalet maintains ninth place in Silver with 14-17 record. Newly promoted Tormes keeps the twelfth position with 24 games lost. L'Hospitalet will face higher ranked Cocinas.com (#5) in Logrono in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tormes will play at home against Vic (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
