Regular Season Round 22: Sporting - Iraklis 89-58

No shocking result in a game in Athens where ninth ranked Sporting (10-12) smashed 11th ranked Iraklis (5-17) 89-58 on Monday. They outrebounded Iraklis 45-25 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sporting looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American-Bahrain power forward Brittany Lewis (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Ariana Moorer (172-91, college: Virginia) chipped in 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Four Sporting players scored in double figures. Sporting's coach Thanos Softsis felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Candice Agee (198-94, college: Penn St.) responded with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and her fellow American import guard Zykira Lewis (173-94, college: Cent. Florida, agency: Two Points) scored 17 points. Sporting moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Iraklis lost third consecutive game. Iraklis at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost.
