Second Stage Round 7: RAC Basket - Saint Vallier 85-91

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Saint Vallier (8-7) beat at home 8th ranked Rueil (6-9) 91-85 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Rueil 44-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Saint Vallier shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Derrick Barden-Jr (196-92, college: N.Colorado) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Point guard Rida El-Amrani (184-86) helped adding 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American center Rashid Gaston (206-94, college: Norfolk St., agency: Inception Sports) responded with 22 points and Senegalese guard Lamine Sambe (188-89) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Four Rueil players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier moved-up to fourth place in Places 1-10. Loser Rueil keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Saint Vallier will face JSA Bordeaux (#6) on the road in the next round. Rueil will play against Orchesien BC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
