There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Milano (14-15) outplayed at home 4th placed Moncalieri (19-10) 68-49 on Wednesday. Milano made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Spanish forward Maria Royo (178-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Susanna Toffali (170-98) contributed with 19 points for the winners. German forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and center Valeria Trucco (190-99) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Moncalieri. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Milano moved-up to eighth place in A2. Newly promoted Moncalieri keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Milano will face higher ranked Udine (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Moncalieri will play against Bolzano BK and hope to win that game.
