There was an upset when higher ranked Amyntas Dafnis (14-14) lost to twelfth ranked Koroivos (12-16) in Athens 55-63 on Wednesday. Koroivos outrebounded Amyntas Dafnis 45-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Giorgos Giouzelis (204-95) contributed with 6 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (196-83) replied with 13 points and 4 assists and power forward Panagiotis Koukounias (201-88) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Amyntas Dafnis. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Koroivos moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Apollon Patras. Loser Amyntas Dafnis dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Koroivos will face bottom-ranked Ethnikos (#16) in Pireus in the next round where they are favorite.
