Regular Season Round 28: Diagoras D. - Iraklis 73-71

The most exciting game of round 28 in the A2 took place in Athens. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Iraklis (22-6) to fifth ranked Diagoras D. (16-12) 73-71 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Iraklis. 26 personal fouls committed by Iraklis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Petros Noeas (204-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Nikos Kokkalis (198-85) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Diagoras D.'s coach Spyros Samolis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Michalis Polytarchou (190-83) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Iraklis. Diagoras D. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Karditsas and Charilaos TM. Iraklis at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Diagoras D. is looking forward to face Ippokratis (#8) on the road in the next round. Iraklis will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
