There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Apollon Patras (12-16) beat at home higher ranked Kastoria (15-13) 51-47 on Wednesday. Apollon Patras held Kastoria to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 23.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Kastoria was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for swingman Giannis Molfetas (194-92) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Christoforos Stefanidis (186-80) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Guard Andreas Petropoulos (194-96) replied with 12 points and Serbian forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-90) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kastoria. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Apollon Patras maintains eleventh position with 12-16 record, which they share with Koroivos. Loser Kastoria keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Apollon Patras will face Evropi (#13) in Pefkohori in the next round.
